About Us

Situated in the heart of the Cotswolds on the Daylesford Estate, Daylesford Stud was established by Lady Bamford in 2000.

Then home to three mares, the stud has grown to accommodate approximately 30 since then, among them several descendants of early purchase Maycocks Bay, dam of Lady Bamford’s dual Oaks heroine Sariska, and foundation mare My Ballerina.

Today, the stud covers 115 acres and is overseen by an experienced team led by manager Chris Lock.

Over the span of two decades, Daylesford Stud has established a firm presence as a well- respected source of talented racehorses. The production of quality, sound stock is a key ethos and indeed, an array of high-class horses have carried Lady Bamford’s famous maroon colours ranging from the brilliant Classic winning fillies Sariska and Star Of Seville to the top middle-distance colts Eagle Top and Wings Of Desire.

Crucially, many of them descend from families cultivated over the course of several generations to place the stud on an excellent foundation for the future.
