Today Daylesford is home to over thirty mares, but its early achievements and growth was through the acquisition of four influential foundation mares, whose bloodlines have today produced many of the studs top successes both on and off the track.

My Ballerina

1987 Sir Ivor - Emmaline by Affirmed

An original Daylesford foundation mare, My Ballerina introduced some excellent bloodlines into the stud as a half-sister to the Group 1-placed miler Zarani Sidi Anna, herself the granddam of top sprinters Tangerine Trees and Alpha Delphini, and close relation to American champion Bates Motel...

Maycocks Bay

1998 Muhtarram - Beacon (High Top)

Maycocks Bay has exerted an incredible influence over Daylesford Stud. One of the best sired by former Shadwell stallion Muhtarram, a durable son of Alleged trained by John Gosden, Maycocks Bay was bred by Bishop Wilton Stud out of Beacon, a daughter of High Top bred by Lord Halifax. Beacon possessed fine bloodlines as a daughter of Irish St Leger heroine Mountain Lodge and indeed, the further reaches of this family has come to include St Mark’s Basilica, Magna Grecia and Pearls Galore.

Stage Presence

1998 Selkirk - Park Charger by Tirol

A half-sister to Group 3 scorer and Group 1 producer Rum Charger, Stage Presence was acquired by Daylesford in December 2007. The daughter of Selkirk had won twice in the colours of Robert Sangster and then been quick to make an impact at stud for Swettenham as the dam of 2006 Sweet Solera Stakes winner English Ballet, by Danehill Dancer....

All's Forgotten

2000 b m Darshaan - Forget About It (Be My Guest)

Bred in Kentucky by John Muldoon out of Forget About It, a winning Be My Guest mare, and raced by her breeder with Paddy Prendergast in Ireland, for whom she won a mile maiden at Killarney. All’s Forgotten spent the early part of her stud career with Ennistown Stud before her sale to Daylesford Stud in December 2007.
