My Ballerina

1987 Sir Ivor - Emmaline by Affirmed

An original Daylesford foundation mare, My Ballerina introduced some excellent bloodlines into the stud as a half-sister to the Group 1-placed miler Zarani Sidi Anna, herself the granddam of top sprinters Tangerine Trees and Alpha Delphini, and close relation to American champion Bates Motel.

Trained by Paul Cole on behalf of HRH Prince Fahd Salman, My Ballerina won two of four starts at three to reach a strong official rating on 99.

At stud, she foaled seven winners topped by the smart two-year-old Sundari, a Danehill filly who was saddled by John Gosden to win at Newmarket and Sandown Park and run third in the Cherry Hinton Stakes.

In turn, Sundari foaled Mr Singh, one of three winners of the Bahrain Trophy for Lady Bamford when successful in 2012. The son of High Chaparral was also second in the King Edward VII Stakes at Royal Ascot.

Today, Sundari’s influence lives on at Daylesford via her Galileo daughter Spirit Of India.
